Hello! I'm an out of state RN new grad looking to relocate to the Chicago. I'm looking for information on the current job market there for new grads. What's it like in Chicago?

Not great. I have applied to over 130 jobs and have only had one serious call back which resulted in them wanting someone with a lot more experience.
I have been an LPN for 1 year and a nurses aide for 3 years, all within one of the largest health care organizations in Chicagoland and still cannot find a job even though I would technically be an in-house transfer.
There are simply very few positions and a ton of new grads saturating the market.
That's what I was afraid of. I think I'm better off getting the job I want in my hometown and branching out when I have more experience and I can better market myself. Thanks for the info!
