Hello all,

I'm a new grad. with a BSN from a good school, who is still looking for employment. :o I waited until I passed my registry and now I can't find a job in the Dallas area. I've applied at just about every metro hospital since July and have heard nothing. Any suggestions? Thank you for any advice.

Gee I'm sorry; that's really tuff. Have you tried any of the near by rural hospitals? They also have employment agencies for nurses that can help you find nursing jobs that aren't in the hospital. Even if what you really want is to work in a hospital at least you would be working and getting experince while you look for something else.
Specializes in ICU/ER/CARDIAC CATH LAB.

Wow, that's wild! Have you tried big Baylor? I know they've been hiring.

Eilleen.:)

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

Internships are generally offered twice a year - in June, and January. You missed the June ride is the problem. Re-appy everywhere and get yourself hooked into a January internship. It shouldnt be a problem if you get going now.

Most hospitals will not just hire new grads without some sort of internship for orientation!!!!!

Have you checked with Methodist Hospitals...they have a dedicated new grad internship...others here may have called things corectly and you may have missed the cut off...but there's always next time! Hang in there!

PS I know the Care Now facilities love to hire new grads if you want to pick up some clinic/ambulatory care work til you can get into the hospital...good luck!
