Hi! I'm researching some potential job salary. I have a potential lead at an outpatient clinic, in Boston, affiliated with a large Boston hospital. It's a non-Union, salary job. 8-5 M-F. However, speaking with Hr, they said I would probably "fall under" the new grad pay, as this is my first job as an RN. Does anyone know what the rate is? HR said they wouldn't give me the rate until I had a solid offer. I currently work as a CNA outside the Boston area and I know the new grads here Are about 28/hour. Thanks :)

"New grad" and "Boston" aren't generally heard in the same sentence together, soooo..!!

(no idea I'm afraid, but pretty amazing that you found a lead!)

Hahaha. Well BMC has a new grad program (with 500 applicants and like 16 spots) and so do a few others. But thanks! I should find out this week! :)

That's true! :D keep us posted, good luck!

MGH had one when they opened a slew of new ICUs a few years back, but it was very controversial -- $12-13/hr for 6mos while an "intern" but guaranteed a staff RN position at the end if you completed the program. I'd definitely apply if they were still running it!

New BSN grads in Boston hospitals tend to earn in the $30/hr range. That's for those working shift work though. Clinic/outpatient/M-F work will almost always pay a lower base salary and you lose out on all the differentials. Clinics? $25-$28/hr is my guess for a new grad.
