Hi,
I am a BSN nursing student in colorado and am considering moving back to portland, but first I want to compare salaries. Does anybody know what the average new grad salary is? Thanks!

I will be a new grad this December and was looking on moving back home to Oregon also. I found that Providence starts at $26.99/hr, Legacy at $27.99/hr, and Tuality at $26.03/hr. I don't know the wage differentials for evenings and nights and OHSU doesn't list hourly wage on their website...hope this helps!

Starting at OHSU this summer I'll be making 28.71/hr with a 6/hr differential for nights. I do make a little more because of my BSN though. A friend of mine at Providence Portland is making the same amount.

Just graduated. Took job at an outpatient clinic working 4 10's weekdays only. starting pay is $28/hr. Works for me since i don't have to work weekends, nights or holidays!

Missypoo, may I ask what clinic you got a job at? Congrats, btw, it sounds like an ideal schedule!
Leanstreet, does OHSU really pay a little more for BSN?

New grad found a job in a clinic and they say there are too many new grads in Portland area!
Blacksea pebble... If you look at national statistics, most parts of the country are experiencing nursing shortages. Portland does not have a nursing shortage at the moment because we have so many schools churning out new grads. Being "saturated" doesn't mean you can't find a job just that there aren't as many openings as you find in California or Texas. Hope this helps clarify.
Yup, according to my manager anyway. Just got a 3% raise before even starting, woohoo.
