Hi everyone!

Well, after all my hard work, I have finally completed my LPN-RN bridge program =)

I've been a prison nurse for a couple of years and LOVE psych. I am planning on going back to school this year and starting on my Psych NP/CNS.

I am looking for my first psych job and willing to relocate ANYWHERE!!!

Come to NC.... I got a Psych job and had to turn down 3 other psych jobs. Go to the NC goverment job page. Look under Nursing.

Suddenly I have a strong urge to move to NC :yeah:

3 psych positions?? Do you or did you have experience at the time??

Also, are you working in a state/forensic hospital or private? how do you like it?

Well I start Orientation for my Hospital job on Monday. I graduated in Dec. got my Licence Feb 1, interview on the 9th and the job on 13th of Feb. The 3 I turned down were all Psych. I have gotten other calls for jobs as well. One was psych in WA state (i would like to move there in the future) but that one was PRN so basically not enough hours. I precepted in psych. I didn't work as a CNA or Tech. I'm just a new RN.

Also, you could try searching under your state at the following link for psychiatric hospitals in your area:

Texas has a lot of Psych positions open. Florida just opened a brand new psych facility in Fort Meyers. Good luck

I am wondering what other facilities policies are on psych pt's getting up in the middle of the night and wanting coffee, snacks etc. Do you adhere to a strict snack schedule? Or do you allow for individual flexibility. I feel two of our younger Psych pt's are always waking up at the same time and actually training their mind to stay awake by always rewarding themselves with a snack....what do you think? Would love to hear feedback.
