New Grad Residency Program for ADN?

Nurses New Nurse

Are there new grad residency programs for nurses who graduate with an Associate's degree? If no, what about an ADN plus a non-nursing Bachelor's degree? What hospitals offer this type of program?

Facilities that offer new grad residencies are going to have individual requirements. Honestly, a non-nursing bachelors degree isn't going to be much help in any nursing hiring opportunity unless it involves an aspect other than nursing (such as a management position, but that likely will require a masters degree). All you can do is look at hospitals offering residencies and see which you qualify for. Some facilities require a BSN, some strongly prefer a BSN, and some don't state either way. Try to be flexible, even if it means not getting a job in your preferred specialty or if it means having to relocate. While many areas are seeing an oversupply of nurses, there are some areas (primarily rural or low-paying) that are in need of nurses.

Thank you for responding. Where would I go to find various new hire programs? I've checked Google but unfortunately did not find many opportunities that route. Perhaps I should be calling the program something else besides "new graduate nursing program"?

I would utilize the job postings page of facilities you are interested in as your first source for possibilities. My facility, and I'm sure many others, refuses to post any openings on sites such as Indeed or professional organization job boards- the only place one will find open positions to apply for is on the facility web page.
