I'm graduating in May with an ASN (with plans to do RN to BSN immediately) and would like to start a new grad residency in September--a bit of a change of life plans and now I'm hustling to find a great program that starts at the right time. I'm looking at southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Austin, and Colorado. Right now I'm pretty open, really looking for a solid program in a nice place to live for someone who's active outdoors. I'm finding lots of programs but would love this community's opinion on quality and some good leads. Thanks a lot!

Because of the surplus of new grads in these areas, hospital systems in Texas larger metro areas have transitioned into "BSN only" for their new grad residency programs. You will have better luck if you open your job search to outlying communities and smaller cities. FYI, Austin nursing salaries are low. Currently, Houston is the highest - driven by supply and demand.

Denver market is totally saturated, will be difficult to find a job here with only an ASN. Might have more luck down in the Springs or Pueblo.
Great advice...thanks.
Interesting...thanks

Thanks, kadeedid - I just spent New Year's vacation camping at McDowell! Loved it there. I noticed the Mayo clinic and looked into this program....but the July start won't work.
