I work for Providence Holy Cross hospital and they are financially in the hole this year. Due to poor planning of the new tower opening, they over hired nurses without waiting for the floors to open. Now we are being asked to voluntarily resign and they have fired the director of nursing and head of human resources and the manager of telemetry/dou. They are not doing a good job of taking care of there own, so believe me, taking care of others is not there priority right now. I can't image we can get Magnet again. The morale is at a all time low, so I hate to say it, but this is not the place you want to be right now. I hope it works out for you. They really should of been more honest with you and tell you what the situation was like instead of waiting last minute.

I got into the new grad program at Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills, CA. I was supposed to start September 12...however, I was just informed that due to budget cuts, the program has been cancelled!!! I find this extremely frustrating and unprofessional, especially because they know that I live 400 miles away and I was going to move to So Cal for this job. I did not sign any papers because they required me to sign them in person and we agreed I could do so when I moved at the end of August, but that is no longer the case.
What frustrates me the most is that I was told that I can re-apply for the Spring 2012 new grad program in February. I don't understand why I cannot START in February because I have already been accepted into the program and why I would need to re-apply to be considered for a position that may or may not actually pull through
