Hey thanks for the replies guys!
Apparently after finally getting an email back, it just depends on if the OR is looking for new grads at the time. If they are then they said they will be more than happy to schedule an interview.
I was afraid the US would be doing it a bit different, and that I would have to spend like 5 years in med/surg before my shot at the OR.

Hey guys I'm going to be graduating really soon, and I want to go into the OR. I'm going to be graduating in Ontario with my BScN. Does anyone know if it is possible to go straight from school to the OR. It seems to be possible down south.
I'm going to try and do my consolidation in the OR as well. I'm not sure if in the US consolidation is something different. But it is basically working full time for clinical hours, with an instructor. For me it will be my class Nurs405. (I'm sure its called the same thing, but to avoid confusion :))
Does anyone know if hospitals in Ontario have a new grad kind of internship to train you?
I just really dont want to do spend a few years doing med-surg until I can get into a Post Rn program specializing in the OR.
Thank you in advance.
I know I am looking more specifically for Ontario. But any info on how it is done in the US is also helpful, or any info on how I can get a job in the OR in the US as a Canadian grad.
