Thank you for reading this, really appreciate it!!
I am a new grad who recently just started RN residency program. I m placed on the OR unit. Before I got hired, I specifically asked if there was a commitment contract involved and they had said no. But I just found out after working for a week that there is a 4-year commitment contract involved on the OR unit. So I am completely shocked by this because I was not aware of this before choosing this unit and the program. So my question is there any way I can get out of the contract? Is it possible to ask to change units without getting kicked out of the residency program? What are my options at this point? I am confused because I don’t know what to do and I don’t want to feel committed to a unit for a long time that I may not love.
Thank you.

That is a question for your hospital's HR department. We can not predict what your hospital will do for you. After working only a week, they haven't invested very much money into you, so you may be able to leave without penalty.
