New Grad Nurse Interview with Endoscopy Unit

Published

I had this up in the Gasteroentrology forum, but I decided to move it here for better/relevant responses.

But anyway, hey everyone!!!

I have an interview tomorrow for an Endoscopy Unit. I am currently a new grad with no experience and it's been almost a year since I graduated. I'm super rusty with my nursing skills but I've been slowly trying to read up over the course of the months with all my textbooks. Though, this interview caught me off guard and the GI system is something that's so broad I'm not exactly sure what to focus on in order to prepare for this interview. I have been anticipating GI clinical scenario type questions as well, so I'm extremely, extremely nervous....

So I really wanted to ask allnurses for advice on this! Coming from your interviews, what types of clinical scenario questions would an Endoscopy Unit ask? Or behavioral questions for that matter? I'd honestly love allll the help!!!!!

Specializes in 15 years in ICU, 22 years in PACU.

You will most likely be responsible for caring for a patient with conscious sedation, assisting with positioning and equipment. I don't think your knowledge of the the GI system will be a deciding factor.

Interesting that they don't require experience or ACLS.
