Nurses General Nursing

As a new grad FNP-C I am not able to find a job. Every organization want NPs with at least one year of experience. I lost hope. Any suggestions? I reside in NYS currently.

Specializes in Cardiac, Home Health, Primary Care.

Do you apply regardless of what they say they want? The worst that will happen is they won't call you. If they want to fill a position enough they will consider anybody interested.

If you have been applying try to get out and network what you can. Look into more rural areas and hospitals that may be around you. I hope you find something soon!

Specializes in Hospital medicine; NP precepting; staff education.

Are you part of your local advanced practice nurse association? Networking amid that circle can be helpful.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

Just out of curiosity are you also working as an RN at the moment? I'm trying to get into NP school (FNP) and it seems like trying to get that first job as a new grad is difficult so I'm wondering how people currently fill the void so that I can plan ahead. I live in Texas so in addition to APRNs maintaining their AP license, they also have to maintain their RN license.
