New Grad NP starting salary

Published

Hi everyone,

I just had a quick question. I'm graduating from NP school in May and have started going on interviews for my first NP job. I was offered an NP job near Washington DC at an internal medicine clinic that pays $90,548 a year. Is this around what new grads are getting paid? I was just wondering. It's pretty expensive to live in the DC area. I don't really have anyone else that I know in the profession that I can ask.

Thank you so much for your help!

There is a lot more to consider than straight salary. What was the full benefits package? Hours/wk? Call?

This. Also any bonuses? What kind of work load are they expecting?

Also look on the other threads on this page where people are posting their salary info. The search engine will also yield even more.

That salary sounds pretty light though for living in one of the most expensive places in the country, but it's hard to truly gauge without all the info.
