Hi! I am moving from Lansing Michigan to Lakeland FL...so don't even START with the "there's no jobs" speech haha...anything is better than Michigan right now!
I am looking for jobs in Lakeland (mainly at LRMC...but these are scarce...this is where I'm living) Tampa area, Orlando area and St. Petersburg. I need some advice for hospitals that might have good new grad programs. I'll have my BSN August 6th (yayyyy!) And I have healthcare experience so I'm hoping to get a decent position. I'm looking to work on any type of unit but I love Neuro!
I've looked at Bay Care Health as well as Florida Hospital and St. Anthony's. What are some others?
Anyways I guess my question is 1) does anyone know of specific new grad programs 2) does anyone recommend any hospital that might have new grad programs or at least good orientation in the areas above?
I would welcome any advice. I know job hunting is tough right now for all new nurses. I'm trying to be patient. Good luck to all of you out there who are in similar situations!

Hi roma4204!
Tampa bay area: try UCH, Bayfront, and TGH as well. As far as new grad programs, I know that last year St. Joe's was hiring GNs for their GN internships, but I currently don't see any posted, and I don't know how often they do them. TGH also had some internships going on last year, but I'm not sure of when the next ones will take place.
Orlando area: Try also the Orlando Health system, which includes ORMC as well as other hospitals. Also Heart of Florida Hospital.
I hope you can find something where you don't have too long of a commute from Lakeland. Thankfully there are several hospitals in the central FL area!

LRMC loves to hire new BSN grads right now.
Really?! I need to get in touch with an actual person because all the postings require one year or more.
What area are you wanting to work in? I see your first post said you love Neuro...if that's the case, I would look into Tampa General. LRMC doesn't really have a Neuro unit, but TGH has amazing Neuro units that cover strokes, traumatic brain/spinal cord injuries, and epilepsy, among other things.
Just FYI, LRMC has a nurse recruiter who conducts online chats every Tuesdays and Thursdays during certain times (not sure what they are off the top of my head).
