New Grad Moving to East TN - input PLEASE!!

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hey! Im from Tennessee but have lived in Maine for the past 5 years. I am trying to move back to East Tennessee and am having a hard time finding a nursing job. Does any one have any recommondations? Thanks :D

what city or region ?

The Knoxville region even though I am flexible for relocating a hour or two away.... I have applyed to UT and Covenant for new grad positions so far.

Apply with Mercy. I know Mercy Main is hiring on multiple floors.

I can give you a little info on the Tri-cities region if you want. PM me if your interested.

Specializes in Cardiac.

From my experience you have to have your TN or compact state licensure FIRST before they will even consider you.

I have my license in Maine, part of the compact....

Go somewhere else besides the Knoxville area. This place is absolutely stinks working as an RN.

And as far as Mercy.......I would be very hesitant to seek employment with them. There's a reason they have many openings.

Thanks for the input - would you say the pay or the work enviorment makes working in Tenn not so great?? Its tough now cause the job market makes you just take whatever you get

This place is a mess. Work environment and pay both suck. Mercy is not a good company to work for. I am sure somebody is going to come to their defense however I've worked for several better places. I've not seen so much stupid concentrated in one area in my life.

To be honest, i'd be looking about 2 1/2 hours west of here if I were you. There's a little more professional setup over that way.
