New Grad in a MICU

Hey everyone!

So this is my first post on allnurses, but I have read many threads from here while going through school! Sorry if this is in the wrong place... I graduated with my associates in nursing last December and passed my nclex in February. I have a job offer at a long term acute care hospital and an interview next week for a MICU position at a level 1 trauma hospital. I am working towards being a CRNA and want to get there as fast as possible which is why this ICU gig would be really awesome. I'm just a little nervous about starting there with absolutely no ICU experience. Both facilities understand that I'm a new grad so I know I'll have lots of training, but they also both have really sick patients to care for... I guess I'm just looking for advice on how to prepare for critical care as a new nurse. Materials to brush up on? Skills to practice? I very much have a go getter personality and want to jump in with both feet and learn. I just feel like even after school I don't really know what I'm doing... thanks for the help! :)

MICU, definitely MICU!!!!!! Brush up on your Anatomy and Physiology (heart and lungs) as well as pharmacology especially cardiac meds (CCB, B blockers, Adrenergic Agonists, ACE, ARBS, Digoxin, Adenosine), the rest will come with on the job training.
