Hello! My husband is starting grad school at UM this summer and I am taking my NCLEX in June! So, we are moving to Miami and I'll be looking for my first job there. I graduate with my BSN and eventually want to work my way into an ED (so maybe start med/surg or obs). I am interested in the Baptist health Versant RN residency program but was wondering if anyone has advice for the RN job market in Miami (around the UM area)? Anyone gone through this Versant RN residency and have feedback/suggestions?
Thanks!

You need someone in the inside to get a job as a new grad in the Miami area. Either that or get lucky and get hired into one of the training programs that hospitals offer. There are quite a lot of nursing schools in the area pumping out new grads every year, and there is not enough demand to take them all.
Good luck in the job hunting, just wanted to let you know it will probably not be an easy endeavor.
I totally get that the job market is flooded in Miami and that getting a new grad job is not going to be easy by any means. I am very interested and hoping to get into the Baptist residency program which would be an ideal place to start! Plus, I am planning on staying in the area so I am willing to commit longer term. Any current nurses in the Miami area have tips for getting into Baptist? Are there any other training programs in the area?
Kendall Regional has a program too, and I think Jackson health system also has one.
