Hi! My name is Majid Afayee. I just finished the LPN program at Hohokus in Hackensack, NJ. It was a long journey, now I'm preparing for the NCLEX next month. I've been trying to find a job in the meantime. How do I go about it? Most positions ask for someone with experience. How do I find a facility that would take on a new graduate who needs some orientation to get his feet wet?
Thanks!

Hi, As of 4 weeks ago I passed my state boards and received my license, It took me 4 weeks to get a job after I would say 50 resumes I sent out. Most were on line. What worked for me was getting out and applying in person. I have no experiences, have not worked in 23 yrs and I am 50 yrs old. But I did find a job at a nursing home to start with. Don't expect to get what you want.
Good luck!! This is my outlook, if you want something don't stop until u get it.

I agree c FANCYME50! I also just graduated and passed the boards a few weeks ago, and I sent out TONS of resumes. Not one got an interview. However, EVERY job that I went to apply to in person gave me a first interview ON THE SPOT! I too did not end up with the exact position that I wanted, but I did get pretty sweet pay and the AWESOME 0700-1930 three day per week shift! I was completely unable to get interviews BEFORE I passed boards. I tried for a few days (in person) and it was just a waste of time....GOOD LUCK!
