Hi everyone! New grad here thinking about applying to La county’s ED. Has anyone else applied? Or is anyone currently working there? I’m curious as to what the environment is like and how long the training is for a new grad. There is nothing online about there being an official “new grad program” so I wanted to know if anyone could give me information. Anything helps. Thanks in advance!

I have. The problem, though, is that the contract stipulates that if the freeze is lifted within the next 18 months, I'm required to take the position I will be offered or will need to give the entire scholarship back immediately, or make payments on it with 12% interest like a loan. If, god willing, I've already started another residency program, that will make things extremely awkward for me, as I'd be forced to consider burning bridges with that employer and making a leap of faith or losing the money.
I have the full amount saved for this reason, and won't be touching it. Because we pay taxes on it, however, this means that I'll need to pay about $600 when I file. If the freeze lifts and I decide not to take the offer, this scholarship will be more like a fine than anything...
Really wish I hadn't been so persuaded that this possibility was beyond remote due to staffing shortages when I signed. Hopefully, they redraft it to make it not so punishing on us recipients.
