Hi I just passed the nclex RN and moved to boynton beach. I have no connections to any of the near by hospitals nor do I know which hospitals/facilities are a great place to work for. If anybody can please help me I would greatly appreciate it!I have a few questions:1) Which places would you recommend to apply to?2) What is the average pay rate per hour that I should ask for?3) Is it better to apply online or in person?Any info would help,Thank you,Christina

Do your research. look up hospitals in the area, read the reviews, see what specialties the hospitals contain, any awards won, or national certifications. Figure out what exactly you want in a hospital/work environment and start searching. I graduated and moved to FL all on my own with no connections. I applied to hospitals that interested me, interviewed and toured the hospitals and made my decision from there.Everyone will have their opinion of a hospital. while one person might love it, the next could hate it so don't rely on the opinions of others to make career choices!
christina611 3 Posts Oct 29, 2015 Thank you for your input Mischa. I spend all day researching hospitals around me and applying to jobs. Every position requires experience that I do not have but I am doing my best. I put this post up so I can learn more information about the hospitals around me, I appreciate others opinions, but ultimately I will make my own decision. When applying to certain positions the application sometimes asks what salary I am expecting to make. I have no clue how much I should put because I don't know how much nurses here in the Boynton Beach area make. I've looked it up and I have read some make $21.50-$36/hr that is such a large range. So that is one reason why I was asking for any help from nurses in this area who can give me input from what they know. This is part of the research I am doing but definitely not the only one.

They paid me base nursing salary to get trained and take classes tong et a critical care certification. Although I had to sign a 2 year contract it's been worth it so far
