New Grad Job Positions Anywhere in America

Published

Hi you guys! I graduated in May from the Bay Area. I've passed my NCLEX and have been desperately looking for a job. There are barely any opportunities for new grads in the Bay Area and all through out California since we have no experience. I am willing to move to a different state or area in California for a job- to get that 1 year hospital experience that most jobs want. Please post here if you are aware of any hospitals willing to hire new graduate nurses in America. It will be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU ALL!

Thank you all for your replies. It sure will be a change for me if I move to a different state because I'd be all by myself. I'm only 22 years old and have always lived with my parents (I'm incredibly family oriented). However I need that 1 year hospital experience to get jobs in the Bay Area. A year seems a lot, but it will fly by..hopefully. I will look into all the areas you all stated. Thanks once again so far for the replies

BEEPOSITIVERN: Thanks for the reply! May I ask which hospital this is? Knowing they hired 50 new grads gives me hope :) I'm a city girl so maybe moving to NY won't be so hard for me

Didn't mean to hijack....my instructor when I was in school in Southeast Kentucky was an OB nurse for years lol....just ironic!

I'll tell you I am having the same problem in San Diego. Most of the hospitals only have New Grad RN programs every 4 months. I have applied a couple times, and haven't gotten in. Its very frustrating. Maybe its time to move east! LOL

So Im not comfortable posting the name of the exact hospital that I am working at. You just never know with the internet these days :-). But I can tell you that I have heard of hospitals in the Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse areas that are hiring new grads. I can say this with certainty as I have had several friends from nursing school that were hired in all three areas. Just do a little research about which hospitals are in these areas and you should be fine. Even if they dont have any specific postings for new grads, go ahead and apply for any open nursing positions.

Upstate New York is beautiful, but if you are expecting it to be like NYC you are in for a surprise. Upstate new york is about 6 hours from the city depending on where you are so be prepared for something a little different than urban city life. Oh, and we have winters that last 6 months. So, ya know, bring a jacket.
