Hello, I will be starting on the floor in a couple of days and was wondering how long do you think I would need on orientation? I have been an LPN for 3 years but worked with dementia patients.

Congrats on getting your RN! Every facility is different, but new grads can get 6-12 weeks in non-specialty units as a ballpark figure.
You will most likely be assigned Orientation competencies, and you shouldn't come off Orientation until they are complete.
Good luck with your new job! Although you have many transferable skills as an LPN, you are working in a different role as an RN and with a different patient population. Give yourself time to learn about the new position (I speak from experience).

What does your orientation include? I was a new grad of six months, when was I was hired on to a post open heart surgery unit, I received 12 weeks of training, That included telemetry interpretation... THAT requires a whole different set of skills.
Good luck! Please don't be afraid to ask questions.
