Hi, y'all. I recently graduated in April with my associates. I start my BSN in August. I have applied for probably close to 100 jobs in my area and have only had 4 jobs offer me an interview. I didn't pass my NCLEX on the first attempt so I am retaking in 2 weeks, so I thought that would be why I'm not getting hired but I know multiple people who have failed their NCLEX and were still hired even before they retook it. I thought maybe it was because I have an associate but again, I know multiple people who were hired with only an associate degree. I have talked to many friends and people I know to help me get a job and still no luck. I've had multiple people look at my resume and cover letter and they all say it looks great! I have asked jobs why I am getting rejected because a majority of them automatically reject me and they either don't respond or tell me it's lack of experience, even if it's a new grad job?
How am I supposed to get experience if I don't have any experience? My school made it seem like there was a huge shortage for nurses but I'm starting to see that's probably not true. I might have to settle for a psych or nursing home position but I am worried about the burnout. Advice is helpful...but venting was also helpful haha. I'm trying not to lose hope but I never thought it would be so hard to get a job!

I will suggest to email unit nurse managers. Call the hospital and acquire the email through secretary and simply stated that you would like to offer feedback for the units. Good luck!!

Some employers in some areas don't consider an applicant until they pass boards. I would focus on NCLEX and see if your situation changes once you've passed.
