New Grad Can't Find Work

I recently graduated from OHSU and am struggling to find any kind of position in Portland. Previous cohorts left me with the impression that most students would have job offers before graduation. So far I have had one on-demand (recorded) interview and one live interview online with Providence that I thought went very well and they gave every indication that they would be making an offer by the end of the week, only to send an email a couple hours later saying they wouldn't be moving forward.

The COVID hiring freezes have been somewhat lifted in Portland but I think the hospitals may not have a high need for nurses right now? I have applied to DaVita, private clinics, etc. but I have not gotten interviews yet. My life is in Portland and I do not want to have to move but I didn't think getting work as a nurse here would be so challenging. I have started applying to hospitals elsewhere in the state and have even applied for a Washington license. If anyone has advice on how to find a job in the Portland area I would really appreciate hearing about it.

No I am at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville. It's an hour commute for me right now. If you are willing to commute, they have openings right now and will hire new grads.
