New Grad BSN RN Pay in Beaumont, TX area?

U.S.A. Texas

Does anyone know what the start pay for new grad RN(BSN) is? What hospitals in that area are good to work for, and what great benefits can I look forward to? :)

I am relocating there after graduation from Jackson, MS

The Medical Center pays the best, but... there is a reason for that! Baptist is a good place to work, magnet status and "nurse friendly". I work at the latter and have worked at Med Center, prefer Baptist hands down!

I think the previous poster may be mistaken. CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth (Beaumont, Tx) achieved Magnet status last year. Baptist does not have that recognition yet. I don't know what the "medical center" is referring to.

The Medical Center is in mid county. The following is where my info came from "Beaumont - (September 25, 2007) - It is one of the highest levels of recognition a hospital can achieve. Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital has achieved magnet designation for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credential Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.

'The Magnet recognition is a tremendous achievement for Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, but it does not change who we are," stated Nancy Sims, Chief Nursing Officer. "It simply recognizes the excellent work our nurses and patient care givers do each day and reflects the commitment of our entire staff to serve as a team, providing the highest quality care possible for the people of our community." Only three percent of the nation's 7569 hospitals - including the Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center - have achieved Magnet status. Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital is just the 18th hospital in Texas - along with St. Luke's Episcopal, Texas Children's Hospital and The Methodist Hospital - to have earned the highest award in nursing."

I am pretty sure this means magnet status. I may be wrong but it is still a great place to work!
