New grad ADN... do I have a chance?

Hi everyone! I graduate nursing school next year with an ADN, and I know that most hospitals prefer a BSN...so do I have a chance? I know that beggars can't be choosers and I may not have my first pick on a specialty unit (ICU), but what about if I do my preceptorship in the ICU? I know there have probably been a million posts like this, but any responses would be helpful! Have a great day!;)

Are you looking for a hospital that would hire you for ICU? If so, what boro do you live in? I know that Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn hires new grads for their ICU's.

Of course you have a chance! I don't know that it's accurate to say that most hospitals "prefer a BSN." In my experience, most hospitals don't really care as long as you're licensed. Whether or not you have a BSN would come into play "later on," for management and other advanced, non-bedside positions, but those positions also require experience. As a new grad, your "new grad" status is more significant than whether you're an ADN or BSN new grad.
