Hi all,
In the last week, U of AZ has posted a change to their programs. They have dropped their 2nd degree BSN and have added a mepn program (master's entry to the profession of nursing (mepn) pathway). This is available to those who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree.

I called to get more info. They said tuition would probably run between 35-45k(depends on residency status). They will start having info sessions on the new program starting at the end of this month.

When I dropped off the alternate list acceptance letter they said they only placed about 20 on the list. Also, I called Friday afternoon and they said they had about 20 waiting.
did you happen to ask when they would start contacting the alternates? I assume they knew the initial number of acceptances/declines of admission on friday, more people could drop closer to the deadline but I'm sure everyone who was admitted didn't accept.
They said they would start selecting alternates pretty soon. They didn't give a specific date, but they said they would evaluate those on the waiting list once they knew how many spots they need to fill immediately. So I take that to mean anytime, beginning tomorrow... maybe. Spring break started this week, so I don't know what kind of hours they keep.
You said earlier that you knew some people on the waiting list who got called on, when did they start hearing?
Keep your hopes up Jacoba, you may just get in right before the program begins. I canceled my interview 2 days before i was set to go. My hubby and i looked at the cost of U of A and considered my other student loans and decided that i should focus on schools locally in NV first and if i don't get into those then U of A can be considered only then. I am starting to regret my decision but hopefully i can get in somewhere this year. Best of luck to all those on the waiting list.
Still haven't heard a thing. I don't think I will be getting in this year.Did anyone here apply to the traditional BSN program too?
Speaking of which, I was just rejected from the traditional BSN program too. I don't think I have whatever U of A is looking for.
Gabby - I'm sorry you decided against U of A for now, but rest assured that Nevada has plenty of good programs too. Plus, you can always reapply if you feel U of A would be better for you.

Jacoba, how did you hear about the number of alternates? I couldn't seem to get information about the number of spots. Thanks!
