I'm new to this board, and to the nursing field (not yet in a program, but plan to be enrolled in a CNA program in Oct 05 and plan to apply to Deaconess for 2005). I am currently employed full-time, have a college degree, have 2 teens, and am married to a wonderful man. I cannot afford to quit my job, so I needed a way to earn the nursing degree the non-traditional way. Up until a couple days ago, I was very distraught due to not being able to find a program offered online/evenings/weekends. I continued to search and search, and wa la...I found this board! I have already requested info from Deaconess, and I've already submitted my application to the CNA program at a school that's 30 miles away from my job. I've been told by the admission officer that I could earn the CNA certificate in less than 4 months if I go to class 4 times a week. I am willing to do this. I just wanted to introduce myself, because you all will be hearing from me quite a bit as I pursue my dream....Nursing. :rotfl:
