I recently completed CNA classes Nov.15 th 2010.I have no expierence and applied almost everywhere in Rochester,NY.I summited resumes and did follow-up calls. The school I did my classes at said they would help us find employment but still nothing.I was hoping to get a CNA job to save up money to get a car to go to Boces for lpn classes.Should I apply to McDonalds or some lower job because I Im currently unemployed......Im so confused and a little upset because idk what to do.

If you have to work in fast food, go to In N'Out, if they have them in your area. They are known for paying well. Look for ads in the paper and place your own ad to do private duty home care. Often these jobs will pay better than a typical CNA job.

One of the best things I got from my school wasn't my certificate or the education - although they're essential! - it's the letter of recommendation from the program director. I think that paired with a really good resume that I worked hours on was what helped me get my last few jobs. (Been through three since I got out of school, if you can believe it.)
