New CNA job market in east valley area, AZ?

Published

Hello, there!

I'm planning to CNA progr. soon and wonder how it is easy or quick to get a job after getting certification in AZ? (around tempe, chandler, gilbert, and ahwatukee)

I don't have any medical exprnce. I just is waiting for nursing sch. and get some hands-on exprnce.

I found one CNA prog.school, RSAA which has only 3 weeks prog. How is this school?

Do you know any other schools that have shorter than Maricopa community colleges?

Thanks in advantage.

I am a graduate of RSAA's CNA program. It's an awesome school, with very helpful instructors! You won't find a program that is cheaper then RSAA's, believe me I've looked. Gateway Community College offers a CNA class, but the waiting list is 6-12 months long from what I have been told.

As far as the jobing market, there are plenty of nursing homes that are looking for fresh new CNA's. It's much harder to get on with the hospitals, it's one of those "you have to know someone to get anywhere" kind of deals.

Good luck!

hotnurseintraining! Thank you very much!!! It is very helpful information!

Specializes in Pediatric, ED.

I agree with hotnurseintraining. There are jobs out there for CNAs though mostly @ LTC or nursing facilities. If you like the place where you do your clinical, you may want to talk to the HR personnel before you finish your clinical rotation at that facility. I passed the state board and received my cert. earlier this month and had 2 interviews so far. One at a hospital and one at LTC facility. I am hoping that one of those will work out for me. I am looking forward to working while I wait to get into NS and finish my co-reqs. I think CNA is a great way to go in getting hands-on practice with patient care. I really like it a lot.

Good luck to you!

Thanks Lizzyru! Good luck!
