Hello everyone, I would really like some guidance. I am a new RN, (passed NCLEX on 1st attempt on August 8, 2016:up:) I am currently working in home health care. I was a LPN and when I became a RN, I started doing Skilled Daily Visits with my company instead of Private Duty. I like the freedom I have traveling around and performing my daily visits, but I feel I am missing out on the RN experience. I want that RN background that you receive working in a hospital. Seeing multiple patients and performing multiple tasks/skills. I don't know which way I want to go. I been with my company for over a year, but only as a LPN, now I am a RN, I want to branch out, but I don't want to let them down. I know I need to do what's best for me, but honestly all doors are open now as a new BSN, RN and I just don't know which one to go through. Can someone please help me? Thank everyone for their positive support and replies.......

Why not do both? Apply at all hospitals as not having hospital experience makes if harder to get a hospital job, but having LPN experience may make it easier to get into MEd/surg units. Hospitals are only 3 days a week. Once you get hired and work are few month you can revaluate what you want to do. But it is both areas are part of the RN experience and don't sale your position short.
