New to the board and loving it

Hello everyone!! I am new to the board...well, actually I have been reading posts for awhile, just never posted myself...and I have to say...I think this is great place!!! I can not believe all the information and support that gets exchanged here.

I am not a new grad, or a new RN, but I haven't worked as a nurse because after graduating with my ADN and passing boards, I decided to go back for my BSN. I know, not the smartest way to do things, but I thought I would be able to work after my ADN. Family responsibilities made 12 hour shifts impossible and the only 8 hour shifts we have at our hospitals are in Med/Surg. I can not do Med/Surg...so I decided to get the BSN out of the way. I have been working as a Lactation Counselor while going to school. I will be starting my first L&D position this coming Monday and I am sooo excited...and scared. This forum has been a real inspiration for me because there are so many of you to look to for guidance and support...and so many who have been in, and are in my shoes and know exactly how I am feeling. I went into nursing to become an L&D nurse and can't believe it is finally happening!!!!

Soooo...I will have many questions...I am sure, and I am thrilled there is another resource (outside my preceptor and the staff at the hospital I will be working at) for me to turn to.
