I just got word about the new 1yr residency program for new nurse grads and am trying to find out if it is only open to enlisted or are reservists eligible as well. Thank You for any and all information. Littlesiss004

As far as I see, it only applies to active duty as it is a full year. It does say that the program is brand new, and subject to rapid changes. It looks like a combination of orientation to army life as much as orientation to nursing. One of the major goals seems to be retention.
Looks great to me. I might be putting in for this in a year or so. The first group of 100 is going in Oct. I suppose they do OCS, then direct to the residency, once completed, then they begin the standard "path"

littlesis,
I have only the verbal info from talking to my recruiter - my understanding is it would only apply to active duty and those in the nurse corp - therefore officers only. I really like the idea of this program and it sounds to me - based on the small amount of publicity that I have seen, as worknblues posted.
If anyone stumbles across more info or thoughts on this program please post them
