Hi and welcome to the site

I have moved your posts to a thread on their own in the International forum. What you have to realise at the moment is things for US nurses are very rough with many struggling to find work and are understandably upset when they see foreign nurses posting about wanting to work in the US when they themselves are struggling to find work.

Getting a work visa isn't as easy as you think, generally H1b and for that you need to be a specialist with experience and to find a employer willing to go through the process with you, with the current economic climate in the US I feel that will be very hard to do. You may just have to accept that you have a long wait ahead of you whilst you wait for your immigration visa to be processed

I can understand your need for a job. Many US nurses are having difficulty finding jobs and they all have families who depend on them like your family depends on you. Many US nurses have large student loans and their parents have taken loans for them to complete their degrees. Some of these nurses have lost their homes and cars. The same nurses have paid taxes and been part of the local community ( volunteering at Church and School). So when a RN position opens up, who do you think should get the job ? A person who has lived their life in the community, paid taxes. has kids in the school system or a nurse who is from another country who is also needy.

For these reasons, Americans wish to support the people in their community. I predict that there will be a long wait for American Visas. Nursing positions will not be plentiful for a very long time. I am sorry I wish I could be more positive. But the path to the USA is full of roadblocks for all nurses, Americans and Foreign. It just makes sense to take care of US citizens first.

Royce what type of nurse are you? How many years experience do you have as a nurse? I'm sorry that you need a job, but so do many American RN's and many non RN's. Also there are many foreign RN's who need a job, and some are looking at other options as that there aren't any visas available to the US. You might need to look elsewhere for a job. If your dream is to work in the US, then keep that dream alive but work on Plan B while waiting because people have been waiting for years to come here. You should also keep practicing your English because just by your post alone I can see there are a lot of grammar errors and having good English skills is a necessity in nursing. You have to pass English exams before you're allowed to sit for the NCLEX. Good Luck

You do not need to pass English exams to sit NCLEX as each state will have their own requirements but you do have to pass English exams for visa screen certificate

Thanks Silverdragon, I had the NCLEX and visa screen certificate confused. Thanks for the clarification.

The problem also is some of the Philippine schools turn out nurses beyond what they can hire in hopes to export them.

It's reasonable citizens in the receiving country would be upset seeing yet another facet of their workforce going to non Americans.

One issue I've had going abroad is their immigration laws are prejudiced; for example I can never ever in my entire life become a citizen of Thailand because of the color of my skin and the blood in my veins. This applies to many mideast and Asian countries; they're xenophobic and prejudiced. Sure I'd be upset if a Thai nurse comes here solely for the purpose of taking a job at lower pay when I've been looking for one. On the other hand, my extended family my goal is to put some through nursing school but hopefully they can find a job over there. We have enough nurses; too many. I don't need to contribute to the job shortage and I think it's better they have a better life over there being educated over there and my money can go to help them out over there.
