I thought someone might find this helpful:
Azusa Pacific University is starting a new accelerated BSN program in San Diego for those who already hold a bachelor's degree. The starts are Jan 23, 2006 and Fall 2006. The info isn't on the website yet, but if you're interested, call 411 for the number for Azusa Pacific University, San Diego Regional Center. There was no waiting list when I asked about the program a couple weeks ago.
(note: I was asked to edit this due to terms of service. I don't work for Azusa, and I'm not going there, either.)

Here's the relevant info I received from admissions. If you're interested, call 411 for the number for Azusa Pacific University, San Diego Regional Center. There was no waiting list when I asked about the program a couple weeks ago.-------APU San Diego Center has just started a second degree in nursing for the student who already has a bachelor's degree in a different discipline and now wants to become a nurse. Once prerequisites have been met the student with at least a 3.0 GPA qualifies for consideration for admission into this program. It is a very intense full time curriculum for 15 months, at the end of which the student will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX exam to be licensed as an RN! In addition, the student can continue into the APU MSN program in Azusa to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner. This program is so new that information regarding it has yet to be included on the APU web site or printed literature; therefore, do not be confused by this. The literature will catch up shortly! The first cohort of students will start Jan. 23, 2006. If you have all the prerequisites finished by then you can start at that time. Get us the application etc. as soon as possible and we can put you on the list for the first group. Otherwise you can start in Fall, 2006. Once you have submitted your application, a graduate advisor will be assigned to you and will walk you through the rest of the process. The deadline for the application process is not set in stone because this is such a new program but space is limited so we will take the first students who are qualified. Inquires are coming in daily so do not delay.Prerequisites include: Communication skills verbal/written (6) Human Anatomy and Lab (4) Human Physiology and Lab (4) Bio-chemistry (1) Organic Chemistry and lab (3) General Microbiology and Lab (4) General Psychology (3) Human Growth and Development (Lifespan) (3) Statistics (3)

That's so great about the accel'd BSN program! It would have saved me from moving to the East Coast to get one! But I have friends who would love to apply to this one! Thanks for sharing!
