An RN experience is a nursing experience and a hospital position shouldn't hinder you for getting that $$$ - unionized vs unionized facility, the rate should be reasonable for your years of RN experience regardless of where it was. There is transition/orientation up to 13weeks ish or more if you further needed it (depending on your facility), to familiarize yourself with the hospital policies and strengthen your clinical skills.

There was a time when clinical refresher courses were being done, self pay but prepared you to reenter hospital nursing. Try looking into that, also go to a nursing school lab and ask the staff to help you go over skills.

Hi,
I have been a RN for close to ten years now. When I graduated, I graduated into the heart of the Great Financial crisis in 2009. Any opportunity to work in a hospital or any other clinical environment was almost impossible. So the only thing available was home care where I have been for a long time now and grateful for because if it wasn't for it. It would be nothing. The problem is I never had a strong clinical background. I have two young children and don't want a beginners nurse salary so do I acquire clinical skills? Any ideas? Thanks
