Hi! I got accepted into a neuroscience externship for the summer. it is 12 weeks long. I really am looking into being a pediatric nurse when I graduate, but I know any experience will be beneficial--especially since I want to get hired into this hospital. I was curious as to what I should expect to do daily on the neuroscience floor. What will paperwork look like, etc. Thank you! Also, do you believe that the hospital would hire me after if the floor likes me, even though I want to be in a different area completely?

Be prepared to jump to bed alarms going off constantly as pretty much everybody is a high fall for risk and often does not wait for assistance /confused. Other than that the usual garden variety of neuro which is stroke, seizures, "we do not know what it is but neuro is best equipped to handle this craziness", neurosurgery....
Patients are often cognitive impaired and confused. Pat after back surgery often have problems with pain and voiding.
It is very interesting field - hope you enjoy it!
