Hello aspiring nurses! Is anyone as nervous as I am in regards to being accepted for the program? I'm sure so!
Anyway, im not sure what system or ranking is used by other community colleges in the country, but CT uses:
50% - GPA
25% - TEAS Score
25% - A&P I Score
My GPA is currently a 3.8, I got an A in A&PI and my Teas score was a 75.9% (yiikes) I know it is not TERRIBLE, and 65% was needed to pass, but this is still making me really nervous.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR RANKING SCORE?
Do you guys think I have a good chance to get into the program with those percentages? My grades are excellent, out of all the classes I've taken (about 20 at least) I have 1 B, 1 B+, 2 A-, and the rest are A's.
Please be honest, do you guys think I have a good chance to get in????
Thanks everyone, and good luck!!
Good luck! Although I think you'll definatly get in w/those grades. I'm so nervous :-/ The 76% on the teas is whats making me nervous. I heard they are only taking 100 ppl at NVCC. I really dont like the lottery thing, because 60 ppl will be accepted by ranking, and then 40 ppl by lottery. So that could mean that 40 ppl who dont even care about their grades as much can get in. Not fair for those of us who's life is based on getting good grades to get in the program and become a nurse. Grrr!
Like you said, lets hope for the best. Until late April, I'll be dying!!!!
Thank you, I think you will definitely get in with your grades as well. 76 on teas is still a good grade. See, if you have a 3.8 gpa (50% of that will be 47.5) and an A ( gives you the full 25 points) and 76% ( gives you 19 points out of possible 25) Your over rank number: 91.5--That is a excellent rank. --You will get in for sure.
I know its really not fair that 40% people get in with low GPA, AP1 and teas score. But be assured that you have magnificent grades and you will definitely get in. You won't be chosen by lottery (because your grades are very high to be chosen from rank)
My sister is currently in the last semester of nursing and she was chosen by the rank. However, her grades where decent and not as high as yours. Her stats where:
1) GPA: 3.5
2) AP1 grade: B
3) Teas score 80%
and her overal rank number was: 83.73 and get got into her college of first choice at CCC.
So don't worry :)
Hi, has anyone taken the scholastic level exam? This exam I took is to get into a LVN program. I need study materials for the math part, questions, answers. Can anyone help with this?
