I'm in Indiana and am applying to Ivy Tech Community College nursing programs, both LPN and RN. Our acceptance is based exclusively on our grades on the 4 pre-req's and the TEAS score. GPA doesn't come into play except as the last criteria in the case of a tie. We all pretty much need A's just to have a decent chance for the RN program.
Good luck!
Nepe0408,Hello,
Your GPA is high and you have an A in A&P I, that's 75% of the ranking. I know people that in to CCC with less last year, plus there is the 40% lotto. What is your first choice school?
Hey StudentnurseCT
My first choice is NVCC, second is WCCC, and third CCC. Are you applying or already in the program?? I really hope I can get in, I'm so nervous about it :-/
First, don't be nervous because your chances are like your grades excellent =). You'll be getting that acceptance letter before you know it. I think there is greater emphasis on pre req grades because they give them an idea of how you will handle the rigor of the nursing classes especially in anatomy and physiology classes since those take a lot of work, memorization, and understanding. Plus, your score is above passing so you're in the safe zone for that. I'd wish you luck but you don't need it

Hello aspiring nurses! Is anyone as nervous as I am in regards to being accepted for the program? I'm sure so!
Anyway, im not sure what system or ranking is used by other community colleges in the country, but CT uses:
50% - GPA
25% - TEAS Score
25% - A&P I Score
My GPA is currently a 3.8, I got an A in A&PI and my Teas score was a 75.9% (yiikes) I know it is not TERRIBLE, and 65% was needed to pass, but this is still making me really nervous.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR RANKING SCORE?
Do you guys think I have a good chance to get into the program with those percentages? My grades are excellent, out of all the classes I've taken (about 20 at least) I have 1 B, 1 B+, 2 A-, and the rest are A's.
Please be honest, do you guys think I have a good chance to get in????
Thanks everyone, and good luck!!
