Has anyone done the Nephrology Nursing certificate at Humber? I am thinking about it and would like to know how each module is. I have done Critical Care courses at Mohawk and currently work in ICU. Thinking that dialysis might be the way to go.
I also am looking for "Contemporary Nephrology Nursing" Principles and Practice text if anyone has one they are looking to get rid of.

A bit off topic, just wondering how you like the critical care courses, and would you recommend it. Thinking about taking on some new learning. You can PM if you like. Thanks.
Sent you a PM
Actually I was unable to send you a PM as it tells me your mailbox is full.
The critical care courses were good to do. Some were a bit more intense than others. I still have to do "neuro" and "special populations". I was exempt from the cardiac module as I had already done 2 modules of the Advanced Cardiac Care certificate, which I have never been able to complete as they stopped offering it. I spoke with Mohawk in the spring and they thought it might be offered again this fall but it is not in their calendar.
I would recommend critical care courses to anyone wanting to expand their knowledge base. Even if you don't want to work ICU. Mohawk's fees are pretty reasonable and you can get your money back from RNAO or your employer. So you aren't spending much if anything. If you do take it, the textbook is available through amazon or chapters, usually cheaper than the schools charge. I used a chapters gift card and paid next to nothing out of pocket. I think amazon is cheaper though. You could also look at Abebooks.com they have a lot of used textbooks pretty cheap, just make sure you check the shipping charge to Canada as it can vary greatly.
Best of luck and definitely not a waste of time.
Let me know if I can help you with anything.
Thanks for the input.
