Hello all
I need a bit of help. I was planning to take my adult CCRN but after reading the eligibility I am not able to because I have not worked in SICU/MICU in at least 3 years. Currently I am NICU. I have been here since I left adults. I want to know if it is frowned upon if I get my CCRN in NICU instead of adults. I want my application to be competitive this is why I am planning to take the CCRN. The schools I plan to apply to take NICU as an ICU specialty. Just need some advice
Can anyone answer this for me.

Call the program directors @ the school(s) you are interested in. They would be the best for answering that question.

I suggest that you go back to the adult ICU's and then take the CCRN, then apply to anesthesia school.

Take the NICU CCRN exam and apply to programs that accept NICU experience. You already have adult ICU experience too, so you may even be able to apply to programs that accept only adult experience (if the will accept experience that is >3 years old). Call the programs you are interested in and explain your situation to see what to do.
Apply now if you are ready.
