Graduated from the LPN program back in March of this year. I took it in June while studying with classmates and using Kaplan. I didn't make it. I feel like I learned more about test strategies than I did reviewing content. From June, I was feeling so depressed about it and my colleague recommend that I take some time before I take it again (bc I'm an emotional person). This summer, I got to "live life again" (if you know what I mean) - spend time with family/friends, took part in milestones (friends' weddings, friend's baby)...and I fell in love and am actually in a relationship. Great timing, right? Anyhoo, I took it again in November and didn't pass again (used Kaplan again).
I'm actually worried and am re-prioritizing because my insurance (with my mom) will end by the end of this year (my birthday). MY CNA job I was working at during school doesn't offer very good insurance and it's not very "dependable" if you know what I mean (not saying it's bad but it's a non-profit, local nursing home. I've also been worried for my back bc their CNA jobs are HARSH and they don't really protect you). So right now, my priority is finding a steady job by the end of the year. I was thinking of just looking for jobs now and I happen to be in luck bc a hospital where i had clinical at is hiring CNAs at the unit I was at and I was in good standing with the manager at that unit. I'm sure if I visited, there may be a chance (i'm crossing my fingers). I was looking at dates of when to take it and it just seems like a big crunch time to take NCLEX again, especially during this holiday season. Also (here's another lessing in disguise): I ran into an old-co-worker who had a co-worker that took NCLEX 5 times and finally passed. She recommended HURST and passed bc of it. She said Kaplan didn't help for her either. Marlene HURST will be in town on Dec 13 and 14 and now my plans are changing. I think I want to look for jobs now, study, attend HURTS review and either take NCLEX on DEC 26 (which is the only date available in NCLEX here OR january 2). Also, there are rumors of a bridge program establishing at my previous school for spring, so applications may start winter which would be perfect, right? From what I heard, the director sent back papers to the state - whatever that means.
NURSES - I need your help, what should I do? THANK YOU :) I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!
PS: **BONUS PSYCHOSOCIAL Q: So my boyfriend's family is very close with him. His mom is one of those people who works at the hospital and thinks she's "very smart". She'll go to all the nurses in that family and "talk about it" with them in front of me *sigh* We all know people like that, right? Anyhoo, I shouldn't but I feel so much pressure from his family and his grandmother with my NCLEX. I'm a very private person so I don't like to tell people details or my goals until it's actually happened. They also ask me when I'll take it and I try to be honest and vague as possible but it's still hard. I'm aware they may be asking bc it's something for them to ask but I feel like I'm being judged for not taking it, especially his mom. I can feel it - it's like she thinking/feeling, "Damnit woman, why won't you just take it?". They always ask for the date too... how am I gonna deal with this?

Do not give-up!!!!!!! Just keep studying. You are a private person, so tell your family; you are still working on contents & practicing more questions. Do Not let people pressure you. follow your heart. You are not the only person who is going thru this. Remember, it is hard to motivate yourself but, I encourage you, to encourage yourself in the lord and you will be Bless.
