Needin' some inspiration

Published

i was just wondering if i could have some encouragement right now. i feel soooo burned out right now..i am finishing my last pre-req for school (micro) before i begin the nursing program in the fall. i have put a lot of time into my pre-reqs and have come out making a's in all my classes but i am feeling extremely "uninterested" right now. will the actual nursing courses make much of a difference? i can't tell if i am burned out or if i am ready for the real thing! i also need some encouraging from mothers (or fathers) who made it through nursing school with a husband and children. i have 1 daughter--i don't know, i guess i just need some encouragement! thanks to all!

Hey there Melanie- keep your eye on the prize....

I get burnt out too. I have 3 kids (1 is a stepdaughter we get only on weekends.) So I can understand how hard it is to balance family and school. I just try and remember my end goal and how excited I am to be a nurse someday. While studying micro try and relate what your learning to things you may be dealing with at bedside someday. It might make it more interesting if you tell yourself that you may have a patient with one of the bacterial infections you're learning about.

Hang in there... I'm sure that in the fall I'll be on here posting the same thing and you'll be cheering me on! That's the great thing about these boards.
