I am currently attending school in NJ. My school is requiring that all students to take and pass the HESE, before graduating and before taking the NCLEX-PN. Students have pass there graduation dates because they have fail up to four times!!!!!!! Once these students pass the HESE and go on to take the boards they tend to pass on the FIRST SHOT. I AM MORE SCARED TO TAKE THE HESE THAN THE BOARDS. Do all nursing school require to take this test? Does anyone have any suggestions for the HESE?????

If you're an A-B student, piece of cake! If not, brush up on the practice NCLEX questions. relax, you will be fine! Many a great student failed a test because of nerves or over "analyzing" questions.

I just took the HESI last week. It was different from a lot of the review guides I have used in regards to the way the questions were worded. However, the if you understand the pathophysiology, it will be easy.

I recommend that you use a book, which ever one you prefer, and read it chapter by chapter. Once you finish one chapter, take a test from either the provided disk or in the book. Read all of the rationale and take notes on both your studying and the rationale. I committed one month of studying before the exam and passed it on the first go. There were a lot of questions on delegating and prioritizing. So, it is important to understand the CNA's role.

Good luck!
