If he's already got diabetes, then it's secondary prevention. If he doesn't have it yet, it's primary prevention. So sayeth my med-surg instructor (the topic of prevention came up for us in class with head/neck cancer).

It depends on how you read it. I read this as the adolescent already had the diagnosis of diabetes, as some of his family members do. It could also be interpreted as the adolescent was advised to excercise and eat better because he has a family history of diabetes.

It depends on how the original question was worded.

it was worded as a prevention but because she didn't put level of prevention is the reason they are considering both answers
