So I realize this should be in the student portion of the forums, however I have posted in there before about asking for help and I never get a reply so I thought I would ask here this time.

My patient was in a car accident multiple facial fractures, and underwent facial surgery for 9 hours under general anesthesia. My nursing Dx is Risk for suffocation, because he is on a lot of opiates, his jaw is wired shut his sinus were draining lots of fluid during surgery. That is very brief explanation of his risk factors. My problem is I can't seem to come up with an outcome statement. Its like my brain has a huge block on them.:banghead:

I want my interventions to be something like Deep breathing every hour to facilitate gas exchange to get rid of the sevoflaurene gas thats still in his body tissues, something to do with a yaunker so he can get rid of his secretions, and always have a pair of wire cutters near him so he can cut the bands holding his teeth together incase he vomits.

But my outcome statement is just eluding me and its driving me crazy!

Thanks a lot in advance.
