Hi guys! I have a paper for my Leadership class and I need to interview an active or retired charge nurse or nurse manager for that paper. Following are the questions I need for the interviewee to answer, and I also need for him/her to include his/her name, position, and place of employment (along with city/state), or if s/he is retired, the last place of employment. I know this is time consuming, so I appreciate anyone who takes the time to help me out with this. Thanks very much in advance!!! :)
1. How do you motivate your employees to achieve the goals of the organization?
2. What are some of your weaknesses and what are you doing to change them?
3. To whom are you more responsible, your team or your facility, and why? Are there times when that changes? When?
4. As a successful leader, would you say that you have received a better response by adapting to the group's dynamics or by taking an authoritative position?
5. In your opinion, what makes a strong leader?
6. Did you model yourself after other leaders? If so, who and why?
7. As a leader, what is the hardest thing you've had to do that conflicted with your internal values and beliefs?
8. As a leader, name one situation in which you were able to positively influence a co-worker in a profound way.
9. If there were one thing you could do to become a better leader, what would it be?
10. If you left your current job, what one thing would people remember about you as a leader?
11. What qualities do you believe you have that separate you from the crowd?
12. How do you see yourself as a member of the nursing team?
13. What traits do you look for in a new hire that you perceive as a future leader?
14. What do you recommend to become a future nursing leader?

Hello EarthChild,
I've been a member of allnurses.com but haven't posted in a long time for "long" reasons I won't go into......but I'm back and saw your post.
All you are doing is seeking to complete an assignment. We have no knowledge of the "do's and don'ts" of this assignment. How you choose to complete it is based on what you do know. To post it in a forum such as this may be perfectly acceptable to your instructors, so go for it. I was going to be one of those leaders of the pack to respond to your interview if you have not already found someone. You can send me a private message (PM) or e-mail me privately through my email in profile, if you choose.
As you are learning...it's not so much what people say, as it is "how" they say it in responding. Take courage. If I can be of help, let me know.
