My employer is currently accepting applications for a cohort program through a local college for a master's degree track. I've been interested in the Informatics track of the program, but I am also interested in starting a family. I would be planning to have a baby in the middle of the program, granted that I am accepted by the hospital and the college. I'm nervous to start the program because of fears of becoming overwhelmed if I get pregnant. Does anyone have any advice on if I should wait to start the program until after I have a child? I know it won't get easier AFTER having a baby to go through a master's program, I'm just nervous I won't be able to keep up with working full time and going to school while I'm pregnant or post-partum. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

This is something that is going to really depend on you, your personality, your support system, etc. Only you can decide whether you can do it. Others have tried- some have succeeded, some have failed. Is this something so important to you that you would consider holding off on having a baby, or is starting a family more important? If push came to shove, which would you choose?

I got pregnant halfway through my masters in teaching program. I was working full time during the and night classes 2 nights a week. I finished my one early and went into labor the last night of class :) It can be done.
