Need information on North Shore University Hospital-Manhasset

Hi everyone,

I accepted a job offer from North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. I wanted to know if there are any nurses who currently works there and any who worked there in the past, that have any information on their orientation as well as how the work environment is?

Are you a new grad? How did the hiring process work for you?

I graduated last January 2010 but experience wise I am a new grad. The hiring process for me was fairly quick. I interviewed last Thursday and got a callback on Saturday. I start in mid-July.

I am a new grad that moved here from Ohio. I have my ADN, but 8 years of experience as a medic. I have been applying and applying with them but haven't heard anything.

Depending on where in NY you live, I would suggest applying to other hospitals as well. Good luck.

Congratulations and welcome to the system. You will complete systemwide orientation first. When I started, this was one week long, but it may be 2 weeks now, I'm not sure. Do you know what floor you will be working on? Feel free to PM me, I can get you some info.

Thank you :) I will be working on 6 Monti. I believe you are right, I think the orientation is 2 weeks long now. I am just nervous about the whole process but I'm going to remain positive.
