need info on nurse lobbyists

Nurses General Nursing

Published

HI everyone,

God willing, I'll be graduating this october for my BSN. I am currently in las vegas but i wanna go back to california to work there. I wanna ask if anybody here knows anything about working as a nurse in the government? My other bachelor's degree is political science and Id like to find a job where I can make good use of my two majors. Lobbying is one thing I can think of but if there are other fields I can look into, it would really be great.

Thanks.

You could, in addition to keeping an ear open for nurse lobbyist jobs in general, check out jobs with the California Nurses Association. They do a lot of good work promoting nursing issues/ fighting for nurse rights/ promoting patient advocacy.

Are you planning on doing bedside at all? Just asking, because it might be difficult to fully understand/ advocate for health care change if you've never experienced the problems inherent in the system first-hand.

Bedside is deffntly something that Im considering to do but if id be lucky enough to find a job in the government(local, state or fed), that would be great. Im almost done with the program but I still dont feel as confident in it as I was in my previous field. Thanks for the reply.=)
